New Gen Festival is a one-day festival of music, dance, and creativity by and for youth in Ealing. It takes place on the Ealing Summer Festivals site in Walpole Park (a ten-minute walk from Ealing Broadway Station) for the forth year running this Summer, with lots of family-friendly activities.
New Gen is a platform for the next generation of talent, and features spots for emerging artists to share the Main Stage with our live music headliners, as well as opportunities to have a go at creative tasters (e.g. djembe, creative writing, art), perform in the dance and spoken word programmes, and find out about creative careers.
New Gen is aimed at young people aged 10 to 25, but we are also open to the ‘forever young’! Our festival is an inclusive space, welcoming people of all backgrounds and abilities. If you’d like to get involved in New Gen, as a volunteer producer, steward, or marketing assistant, as an artist, or as a sponsor or partner organisation, see our COLLABORATE page.
New Gen is a collaboration between Ealing Council (Arts & Culture and Bollo Brook Youth Centre) and partner organisations working with young people like Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, JE Delve, DIAXPORA, Elevate Arts, Include Me, Rebels & Pilgrims, Southall Community Alliance, University of West London, and the Young Ealing Foundation.
New Gen is grateful to the following for their support in funding New Gen Festival in 2024: Arts Council England, Ealing Council, JE Delve.
New Gen is a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space. Our audience is around 80% global majority and our programme represents the diverse cultures and interests of young people in Ealing and West London.
This year we are pleased to welcome Include Me to New Gen, who are helping to make the Festival a welcoming space for young artists and audiences with additional needs. Include Me partners include Ealing Mencap, Ealing Contact, Ealing Parent Carer Forum, IMPACT Theatre, Mahaba Cafe, Youth Social Network, West London Performing Arts Academy, and Ealing Services for Children with Additional Needs (ESCAN).
