All good things come in threes!

New Gen Festival returns to Ealing this summer to celebrate the next generation of talent and emerging artists.

A celebration of music, dance and creativity by and for youth will be held in Walpole Park on Wednesday 24 July.

The fun starts at midday, with artists taking to the stage and local dance groups leading workshops until 9.30pm. Tickets are just £3 for young people (aged up to 25) and £5 for the over 25s.

Festival-goers will also have the opportunity to find out more about careers in the screen industry, including film, TV, and visual effects. You can also have a go at creative taster sessions from art and drumming to filming or chill out in the Mind Zone.

The event is organised by a partnership between Ealing Council’s culture and youth teams and organisations working with young people and the arts such as JE Delve, Elevate Arts, Rebels & Pilgrims, Southall Community Alliance, the University of West London, and Yardo.

Councillor Polly Knewstub, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for thriving communities, said: “We have an enormous amount of young talent in the borough. I am so pleased that the council is able to support New Gen for another year and encourage these talented artists to flourish in what they do so well.

“It also offers a great opportunity for community involvement. Whether you are performing, volunteering or being there to simply the enjoy the shows and atmosphere, there’s plenty on offer to keep crowds entertained and maybe even strike up new friendships.”
