Girls to the Front: open mic for femme voices

New Gen Festival is teaming up with Rebels and Pilgrims to present an open mic event in Southall prioritising femme voices, with guest performances from:

  • Julianne Gazingan
  • Shalini Rani
  • London Di Kudi

Want to perform? Send a DM to @rebelsandpilgrims (Instagram) or turn up on the day and speak to the host.

Everyone’s invited to attend, support and celebrate our performers. We’re just shifting the spotlight for the voices that don’t always get heard! Funded by Arts Council England.

Young Adults Centre (YAC), Park View Rd, Southall, UB1 3HJ
Wednesday 11 June 2025, 5-8pm
Entry: FREE

Why are we doing this?

With women accounting for only 19% of artists signed to record labels in 2020, we wanted to create a space that puts girls and gender diverse voices front and centre! Femme embraces femininity as a spectrum. So this space celebrates cis women, transwomen, and non-binary individuals who express femininity.

Girls to the Front is back!

After the successful open mic event in the lead up the the Festival last year, Rebels and Pilgrims will be running a series of workshops at the Young Adult Centre…
