New Gen Festival

Celebrating Poetry, Music and Community

What an incredible celebration of creativity, collaboration and young talent!

Poetry Beats Lab brought together four poets and four music producers from across West London to share ideas, create original work and showcase their artistic skills. Following the success of the event, we’re excited to see these talented creatives take the next step in their journey as they prepare to perform on the Amplify Stage at New Gen Festival 2026.

An experimental co-writing and co-production lab, the project challenged participants to work across disciplines and create an original piece of music from scratch. Bringing together spoken word and music production, Poetry Beats Lab provided a space for artists to exchange ideas, develop new skills and discover how different creative practices can come together to produce something entirely new.

Bringing young, creative talent together

The talented poets and producers were able to collaborate, create and explore the power of words and sound. Through workshops, creative discussions and live collaboration, they transformed ideas into original pieces inspired by themes such as the future, technology and social change.

The journey doesn’t end here. The artists involved are now preparing to take over the Amplify Stage at New Gen Festival 2026, where they’ll showcase their original work in front of our festival audience. We encourage you to come along, listen, watch and support these emerging creatives as they share their stories, talents and unique perspectives. Be inspired, discover new voices and celebrate the next generation of artistic talent.

The project stands as a powerful example of what can happen when creative communities come together to share ideas, take risks and create something original. Beyond the music itself, Poetry Beats Lab created opportunities for participants to build confidence, develop new creative relationships and gain experience working within a collaborative environment. By bringing together artists from different backgrounds and disciplines, the project demonstrated the power of creativity to connect people and generate fresh ideas.
